History
Over 70 years ago in the heart of East Tennessee's marble industry, a train carrying huge marble blocks derailed on a peninsula in Friendsville, TN.
The marble was left where it fell, along with the abandoned railway. In 1996, the property was purchased by Bill and Donna Cobble and they named it Marblegate Farm, naturally!
The raw marble was used to create the iconic stone pillars at Marblegate's entrance that leads you to a marble-studded waterfront. Here, history continues to make a memorable impression on this stunning landscape.
